List your provider, rate (incl taxes if possible), type of plan (nationwide or regional), minutes included (anytime, nights and weekends) and any other info you want to share
This thread should be helpful for people looking for a new plan or a new provider. If you have some badass plan list how you heard about it, how you signed up for it etc.
My Plan
Cingular 1100 Nationwide anytime minutes with rollover, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited mobile-mobile minutes: $70 -10% edu discount = $75 per month
Extras: I pay 10 cents per text message and I think its 1 cent per KB of data usage. 8/30/2005 2:06:48 AM |

I am thinking of cancelling my Cingular service
I have like 1500 minutes through rollover...I just don't talk enough.
That said...
Provider - Cingular Rate - $39.99 - 10% before taxes Plan - Nationwide Minutes - 350 Anytime and 5000 Nights and Weekend. 8/30/2005 1:57:41 PM |

^^ yeah i've got a bunch of rollover too. I'd like to clock down to a plan of your size or slightly higher, but I don't think congular offers a nationwide plan that low with rollover anymore (to prevent switches like that). The cheapest i see on their site is 900mins for $60
i heard that they are making people extend their contract for switching plans...but that doesnt make any sense and seems like it would anger customers. Anyone been told this by cingular people? 8/30/2005 2:45:34 PM |

i have 400 peak minutes, and unlimited nights and weekends from verizon. i share my minutes with my gf, who is under my same plan.
plan = + $39.99 extra line = + $20 discount from my work = 17% = $6.79
once taxes and fees are added in it comes out to around $65 a month. 8/30/2005 2:47:18 PM |

sprintpcs
$135 + $60 for 4 addon phones - 25% corp. discount - 5% loyalty discount
3500 anytime nights @ 7pm unlimited data/vision/multimedia (all the packs are grandfathered into all of the phones) unlimited txt msgs unlimited pcs-to-pcs
split 5 ways it's the best deal i've found for all of the features - 3 of the phones have data cables that they hookup to their laptops to utilize the unlimited data when sitting in the airport/car where a 802.11 signal isn't able to be acquired for free 8/30/2005 2:49:04 PM |

i use t-mobile's prepaid service (T-Mobile To Go). I got the phone (nokia 6010) for $45 with $50 in MIRs at CompUSA after price match to Target and I pay ten cents a minute to talk. service is pretty good hear in the Baltimore/Washington area. They don't offer service in the Carolinas though. but you people who complain about high prices and not using the phone very much should look into prepaid deals. there are some good ones with sprint pcs that have been posted recently on fatwallet.com and slickdeals.net

I changed my plan last year and didn't have to sign a new contract or extend the previous plan. I just sent an email to the on campus Cingular rep and she confirmed the change on email. I don't think you should ever go through regular customer service if you bought your phone on campus.
The on campus deal is the best not only in terms of pricing but also service.8/30/2005 3:09:25 PM |

sprint pcs faimly share plan. Two phones share 800 mins, 35 for the first two months, 70 after that per month. Unlimited sprint to sprint calling. + 25% off and I do believe we also get +5 % off for loyalty as we've been with them for more than 8 years. So about 49 bucks before taxes. 8/30/2005 3:13:39 PM |

so i talked to a best buy guy...as of two weeks ago, if you are not in contract and want to switch plans, you get signed up for another year. If you are in contract, it gets extended for 6 months. He says Verizon and Sprint have always functioned like that, Cingular is finally implementing it.
NTM, beginning today or tomorrow, if you have a shit ton of rollover minutes, and you clock down to a smaller plan, you can only take rollover minutes equal to the new plan you're signing up for...essentially one months worth of rollover.
both policies sucks ass, but the phones still kick ass so what can you do

Service is excellent (IMO), as long as you aren't venturing into the boonies anytime soon, you should be good. As well as using their own towers, Suncom also rides on Cingular and AT&T.
I only drop calls in low signal areas (pretty well defined by the map). 9/4/2005 10:16:18 AM |

I was on the interchange ramp at I-40 and I-95 a couple of weeks ago and had a dropped call with Verizon. I had 4 or 5 dropped calls that weekend en route to S.C. and I was on a major interstate every time. They have really been pissing me off lately and I wish I was still with Cingular.
It may just be my phone, I have the LG VX7000. It has a pretty screen but it's a piece of shit as far as holding on to calls.
That said, I pay 44.95 a month for who knows what. With Cingular I was paying $32 a month after discount with 325/2500 minutes but my g/f is with Verizon and we were burning up our minutes being on different networks (ie, we're "in" now). 9/5/2005 1:25:55 AM |

i know we get like 800 anytime, free longdistance and no roaming, unlimited nights and weekends, and i think its like 20 extra for me to be on so all together its like 85
