yah, enlightenment is pretty good stuff but it's a tad unstable (ie, explodes randomly for no reason at startup or shutdown) and I'd really recommend paying attention to the guides online because configuring the login manager that comes with it (entranced) can be annoying as fuck.

Another good site (where I got my background, themes, icons, etc) for enlightment stuffs is http://www.get-e.org. The guide they have there is decent, too.

Dude I haven't seen any user friendly window manager on Linux that is stable.

So when I talk about eye candy on Linux, I am basically ruling out stability by default.

true. If you just want to try it out some, there's also elive (http://www.elive.xasein.com/) which has a live cd using e17.
