Where can I get more functions for my Matlab version? Say some of the functions that the Matlab at school has? 9/7/2005 9:44:50 PM |

you gotta pay for them.
Or an illegal way would be to copy the m files from the campus installation to your computer.
I don't think it's legal though. 9/7/2005 9:45:43 PM |

I thought you used to able to get Matlab free from NC State? Don't we have rights to Matlab, or did they change that?
Any other ways besides copying? 9/7/2005 9:52:48 PM |

If you're an engineer, you can use the exact same Matlab you use at school on your home computer for free via Remote Access & VCL.
http://www.eos.ncsu.edu/remoteaccess http://vcl.ncsu.edu

For the love of god, I cannot get remote access to work for matlab.
I installed X win, Putty. I logged in through remote.eos.ncsu.edu would throw some kind of memory or java error during loading of matlab.
then I tried VCL, and reserved my own machine. Logged in and started matlab Couldn't get the graphical matlab to start, only the command line version
Any ideas? 9/7/2005 10:51:24 PM |

yeah, you could steal a computer from one of the labs and run a REALLY long ethernet cable and series of hubs back to your appartment to keep it on the campus network 9/7/2005 10:52:38 PM |

That would be about as legal as copying them from on campus
except that this time I would be aiding you. 9/7/2005 11:33:45 PM |
