Is there anyway to find out what kind of RAM goes into my laptop without knowing the model number of my laptop or opening up the laptop?

Its an HP that i bought a few months ago from Best Buy, but they've taken it off their website. DV1100 series.

^ yeah, best place to start looking, not usually the cheapest of the cheap, but best/fastest way to find out what specs on the ram you need.

It takes 10-15 seconds to take off one screw and simply read what is printed on the RAM.

Is it really that difficult?
