They picked these scrubs because they have deals with reebok. Way to be jews, reebok!

Quote : | "The shoe company says it will donate the million to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and to the quarterbacks' own personal charities if the handpicked "RBK Touchdown Squad" combines to throw 207 touchdown passes, which would break last year's NFL "record" of 206 thrown by the top six in the league.
This is the kind of corporate giving that's so irritating it gives "giving" a bad name, never mind "corporate." It's an empty press release. I have a better chance of breaking Peyton Manning's single-season TD pass record than this group has of throwing 207 touchdown passes -- and Manning's in the group.
The others on the squad are Donovan McNabb, Matt Hasselbeck, Mark Bulger, Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich. If up to two of them miss games, they'll be replaced with "subs" Alex Smith and Eli Manning." |

haha I pledge to give $500 if they break that record to the Girls and boys club too.
Woo hoo i feel so charitable, where is my tax break.

I can understand Manning and McNabb, and Bulger, but the other ones are just random. Why not Culpepper or Green, at least some QB's in pass-happy offenses. 9/15/2005 11:05:12 PM |

Those six weren't all in the top six last year. Just cuz these guys would have to beat the record doesn't mean that they performed best last year. For the record, last year's top six were:
Peyton Manning: 49 Daunte Culpepper: 39 Donovan McNabb: 31 Brett Favre: 30 Jake Delhomme: 29 Tom Brady: 28
Which is a total of 206 Need a calculator? Or just a new brain?

I'm well aware they aren't the top six.
But I figured it would be a little more relevant to post the totals of the six people in question
Which shows just how implausible it is for them to break the "record"
Than to try and be a smartass and post the figure that was already reported.
I think I'll keep the brain I've got. Apparently it's mastered reading comprehension and math.
You should work on both.

the amount of idiocy in this thread is alarming.
And im not even including Reebok.
Seriously, did more than 50% of the people who read this thread even try to comprehend what was said in it...? 9/16/2005 8:23:57 AM |

well we've got the madden curse, the Sports Illustrated jinx.....
now the Reebok curse
McNabb- sucked balls before getting hurt
Bulger- kinda sucked before getting hurt TWICE
Pennington- a complete disgrace to the game of football before thankfully deciding to have surgery
Leftwich- alright but he got hurt
Alex Smith- sucked total knutesac before getting hurt
i guess my $500 is safe. 12/9/2005 10:13:03 AM |
