^thats leach for you, all his tests when i had him for 302 were that way, and it always helps settle your nerves with the "hand holding^^" usually at least one problem was pretty spelled out.

i basically just did what it said in the hint...

you know u = U + bx and u = dx/dt so...

U + bx = dx/dt.

then you seperate variables and you have....

dx/(U + bx) = dt. you integrate both sides of this and you end up with...

1/b*ln(U + bx) = t + c. then solve for x

he pretty much solved 4-43 in class on monday so i did the same thing for 4-46, but i didnt get what they have in the book either. so i dont know

i think i've got it.

Once you get to y=.....

You substitute (-bya) for (e^-bc).

I'm not exactly sure why. This stuff just goes in circles.
