*SPOILERS AHEAD*
So, I went and rented the movie based on what people said in the disturbing films thread and... I guess I was expecting too much? Aside from the graphic disturbing violence (needles / foot chopping) and the few jolts (the bag moving) the movie really didn't do much for me.
Maybe I just didn't understand exactly what was going on? I couldnt' tell in parts towards the end if it was the guy's imagination, a flashback, a flashforward or what.... I mean... who WAS the guy in the bag? Was it the boyfriend of the girl who used to own the bar?
Anyway, the movie was disturbing somewhat, I'll give you that, but I didn't find it that scary.
Oh, and the scene(s) where he learns about her past WHILE he's drugged and passed out... how would he have known that? There's no way... many plot holes.

I didn't find that movie all that "scary" either I did think it was good though. But i am a big fan of those type of Asian horror movies, like Juon etc
And the sounds she makes as she sticks the dude with the needles is awesome

I think it was built up too much for me too. It had such a long build-up. I've seen scarier, but it was still a good film, glad I watched it. 9/18/2005 11:38:02 PM |

Okay I've owned this movie for a while, and it still creeps me out when I watch it. The part where she vomits into a bowl and then feeds it to the tongueless guy in the bag still churns my stomach.
As for the ending and sorting out what is real and what isn't I suggest that everyone watch the commentary on the DVD. The commentary starts when she slips the drugs into his drink. Everything that happens afterward is him slipping in and out of consciousness.
All the torture scenes where she sticks needles in him and saws his feet off are real. The parts where he is in her apartment, the replay of the date, them in bed together again, and her talking to him after she falls down the stairs are all him as he drifts in and out from the pain. We don't know if she actually has a guy in a bag or if she was actually tortured by her uncle with hot rods, but this is what he imagines as the reality from the information that he knows.
That sound she makes as she sticks him with needls still freaks me out...*kitty**kitty*kitty*kitty* 9/19/2005 8:47:57 AM |
