well fuck my laptop overheated the wireless card so its def. ethernet now

I wouldn't think you'd benefit. I mean, it's not like the ethernet connection to your router or modem is ever gonna be slower than the connection from Road Runner into the modem.

i made sure to not broadcast my ssid anymore so that people wouldnt see it if they have a wireless card and connect to it

As mentioned the wireless and ethernet are both many times faster than your internet connection so they won't be the problem. You did mention that you blocked your SSID broadcast (which is good) but do you have encryption turned on? Its not too hard to find networks with invisible SSID, but it is harder to crack WEP or WPA encryption. That could explain the slowness if someone is downloading porn as fast as possible.

On a personal note, I haven't paid a cent for internet since there are at least 5 unsecured networks here in U. woods.

yeah i tried to connect ethernet and wireless.

the fucking card wouldn't work for some reason. kept dropping the signal even though the router was right above it.

damn trendnet. i wonder if it's defective or that i'm just shitty with computers.
