Verizon Motorola v710 Settlement... Remember the crippled Bluetooth Verizon has? Here's good news for v710 owners that purchased before January 31st, 2005. This is a class action settlement regarding Bluetooth file transfer incapabilities with Verizon and the Moto v710. You can get one of three options by filing a Claim Form [Exp 12/9]. Option 3 seems like the best choice.
1. $25 credit for Verizon Wireless Service 2. Cancel VZW account without early termination fees 3. Return v710 Phone for a full refund while keeping existing service
(Never thought I'd see this happen, but it's cool that Verizon will no longer get away with screwing customers out of basic functions that the phone should (and did) have before they crippled it.)
Anyways, if you have this phone you should take advantage of this opportunity.

score... that was the biggest dissapoint in my cellular life to come home and find out i couldn't transfer pics from my phone to my powerbook. you just can't imagine. the whole reason i bought the phone was because of that and wanting to be able to dial numbers from my laptop or pda :-( bastards 9/28/2005 9:36:09 PM |

so does this mean that they won't cripple the bluetooth on future phones? 9/28/2005 11:45:53 PM |

What stinks is the V710 is going to be one of their last good tri-mode phones. Verizon is moving quickly to all digital.
I wonder what to do now, since I paid a damn fortune for my phone (stupid $150 upcharge).
