I have this Virus that Symantec is naming Trojan.Vundo. It will not delete it, yet keeps popping up notifications that I have it. I try to manuely delete it and it says that another program is using it. It is saved in my Microsoft.NET folder as utillbas.dll. Anyone know how to delete or get rid of this thing. 10/13/2005 9:29:41 AM |

Have you tried booting up in safemode and running the virus scanner then and or trying to delete it then? also try booting up with command line only and deleting the file manually if that doesn't work. 10/13/2005 9:33:54 AM |

Packman posted it before I did. I have ran the tool several times. It will finish and say there is no Trojan.Vundo at the same time as Symantec is telling me there is one. Any other ideas? 10/14/2005 12:34:38 AM |

Steps:
1) Clear the history of your browser 2) Clear the cookies 3) Run Disk Cleanup 4) Run ad-aware 5) Run symantec 6) Run their tool (requires restart and in safe mode i believe)
restart computer again.
If that doesn't fix it take it to repair shop to get rid of it.
Generally it's hiding in your cache or something and all that will clear out most jof the issues. If it's a really good one it's gonna be a real pain to explain how to get rid of it. 10/14/2005 8:01:05 AM |

When I try to system restore on mine, it will not allow me or doesn't allow me to pick a certain date. 10/14/2005 9:23:44 AM |
