So I've had this computer in an ASUS barebones case for about a year and a half, and I've always gotten interference from everything else on the computer. Any mouse movement, drive reading, anything like that caused this irritating buzzing and clicking sound.

I just found a hidden control to mute the volume of the sound card's aux input. The interference is completely gone. Praise Jesus. Praise being too stupid to figure this out 18 months ago.

I'm so conflicted.

I'm so happy it's fixed. And I'm so pissed I dealt with it for over a year with such an easy fix.
