the SuSe install disk has its own partitian tool
I think it can resize an ntfs partitian, not tried it.. mandriva's can though
its usually best to install everything else, then install linux last so it can do its bootloader the way it wants to..

OSX using pear pc or similar?

...though, Norton's Partitian magic is possibly the best retail, with the exception that it hates Fedora's partitians..

they're not exactly "releasing" it into the wild. i.e. you won't be able to go to Comp USA and buy a OS X CD and install it on your dell. They will selling customized Apple hardware with OS X preintalled, running on Pentiums or another x86 chip. But at least initially, any non-apple OS X installations on x86 machines will be pirate versions.
