whenever i play Sof2 i get a constant lag spike every 5 seconds

it seems to not happen when i put my max fps on the highest option (115) but then when i say go through the console and set max fps to 300 it starts up again

I have a 6600gt and a dimension 4700

why would you need more FPS than 115? refresh rate on your monitor is probably 60-90HZ which means it will only display 60-90FPS. 300 is overkill. hell, 115 is overkill.

pretty sure it synchronizes some data every frame... and at 300fps that lag is RoadRunner telling you, "you cannot display this many frames and I cannot transmit this much data. They hide this variable from you for a reason. Leave it alone."

run a bandwidth monitor program while it's running to see if the bandwidth is really an issue. google for 'bandwidth monitor pro'. we're assuming it is, but it might not be.

no, I assure you, if a lag problem is a function of his frame rate, then it is a matter of bandwidth or latency
