Basically, Denver residents voted to make pot legal. This means that local law enforcement can't bust them for possession anything under an ounce. However, state and federal laws still override local laws so state and federal law enforcement can bust you.

the local govt. is deciding on whether or not to put pot on the lowest priority list.

Seattle city law is set up so that minor drug related crimes are the lowest priority. If the cop can be doing anything else they can't bust you for smoking. It's not like making it legal, but it might as well be. I remember numerous times seeing people smoking up in public at Pike's Place Market or in Belltown when walking around.

so does this mean basically the only way to get busted is if an fbi or like sbi dude is there to CATCH you

its like the local cops are just gonna LET you smoke, they DONT care anymore?

state and federal governments will leverage the financial support they provide to these cities in order to make pot illegal if it would ever become legal

at least thats my guess
