You've got two options.

1. File endless continuances until the cop gets promoted or quits, nullifying your case.

2. Prayer for judgment.

Basically, stop sign cases boil down to what hondaguy said.

It happend to me a while back. You could try taking it to trial for the principal of it. You will get a chance to question the officer and may be able to access video evidence if there is any (I wouldn't hold my breath on that). You can talk to a lawyer about it, but I doubt you would win. The reason to do it would be to tie up the legal system and make your point. This is the principal that allows you to get tickets reduced. If the assistant DAs quit playing ball, the lawyers would take thousands of tickets per week to trial, crippling the court system.

You should be able to negotiate it down with the assistant DA to speeding 9 over. If you've had a previous 9 over ticket in the last 3 years, you may be able to keep getting continuances until it was more than 3 years ago. I had to continue mine for 9 months so my insurance wouldn't go up.

I'm fairly certain that I did. I saw the cop before I reached the stop sign, so I made sure that I stopped completely. Then I let a truck pass before I went.

What county was it in. People saying they will or won't let you do this isn't valid unless you qualify it with what county it was in. In Greene county I continued a stop sign ticket for 9 months and plea bargained to speeding 34 in a 25.

One time I knew a cop was behind me so I was driving perfectly. I actually stopped and counted 5 seconds before taking a left and the cop said I ran the stop sign. He's ass got in trouble for trying to give me a ticket...what an idiot

Go to court. Say not guilty. Tell them that you stopped to let a truck go by. Case gets dropped, and you don't pay anything.

i talked my way out of one on campus...i knew that i stopped.

i just told the cop that with all due respect, he didn't have a view from where he sat to tell if i came to a complete stop or not and swore that i did. i stuck to it and he said "alright...well next time just stop a little longer"

and i drove off...
