^Not very. Than again how would 4 or 5 INTs have helped with Davis at the helm?

not that hard, but he did make a couple completions downfield that backed the D up some.

but marcus did finally step up in the second half, but still

nothing else he has shown has made him stand out. it definitely wasnt as obvious as some of you guys want it to be.

but yea that is true too, davis never has the benefit of a running game to take the pressure off.

but GG marcus, lets see some more improvement next week.

I'll say it now:

Stone doesn't put up breakout numbers. He's very pedestrian when you look at the stat book.

Jay Davis puts up breakout numbers... if you're the other team's defensive ranking.

1) Stone did not win the game for us.
1) Stone did not lose the game for us.

He gave us a chance to win. Brown was huge again. With Stone in, we play better for whatever reason.

He has to play '03 Delhomme, just don't fuck up. We got the D to lean on, get a few first downs, maybe a FG, the D will pull us through. Many teams have won with this model.

1 completion for 8 yards in the 1st half

Andre Brown and the defense won this game

Marcus handed the ball off very well and didn't make any mistakes

He didn't do anything to win the game or lose the game

I'm not gonna rag on him, but he's not the reason we won

Quote :

we would have had a decent passing game, instead of a barely sub-par one

you can't get interceptions if you don't throw the ball...

If Jay Davis has an Andre Brown playing with him

then Jay Davis would get the undeserved recognition Stone is getting

and if the offense played bad b/c they didn't like Jay, then they're at fault for losing, not Jay

Marcus is the leader of the team as QB. Our defense played great. Andre was amazing. BUT Stone threw a TD and did what was necessary to win. Jay had his chance last year when The defense played great and he lost.

i can by saying that Stone is not a complete qb

he needs Chuck to threaten benching his ass for Davis at halftime to step up and start playing

being a 4th quarter qb will not win get you everywhere

Stone doesnt' lead

AJ Davis gave us the field position for Stone to throw a touchdown

Stone couldn't even march us halfway down the length of the field

Jay didn't have Andre last year

Stone has Andre and the defense

i'm not pissed we won

i'm glad we won

i disagree with Stone getting credit for the win

he didn't win the game, he was just there

but b/c he's the qb, he gets credit, which is bullshit

Jay Davis could have gotten the win if he had the help that Stone has

man, if Jay had thrown it you'd say it was Jay's fault

b/c the very same situation (throwing a pass directly to a receiver and the receiver dropping it) has happened

Yeah, I think it's pretty stupid to credit Stone with the win.

It's also stupid to deny that we're 2-0 with Stone. Could Jay have won those? Maybe... but he sure as hell had plenty of opportunites over the past two years and didn't...even with a good running game.

I simply think the team plays more inspired with Stone... he breathes new life into our team.

what good running game?

TA 50% everyother game

Baker and Blackman running up the middle for maybe two yards?!

Davis rarely had a running game that accounted for more than 200 yards a game

Stone has Brown who has run for 2 200 yard games

and a defense who gives him good field position during times when Stone scores

Stone has better supporting cast

Stone looks better to people who fail to realize that

that is complete bullshit, you have no idea what I would say. I wouldnt say it was the QB's fault if he made a perfect pass and the reciever dropped it. I was a supporter of jay davis for a long time, but I can also see what is staring me in the face. jay had his time, but it's marcus' turn now, and he is 2-0.

Charlie, in his 2nd career start his team beats #9 FSU. And how about good old jays stats last year vs. FSU J.Davis 6-19-0-72 Stone this year 9-17-0-85 and a TD. call me crazy but Jay had his chance last year. And 6-19 Hmmm. he sucks. You say stone sucks but ill take 9-17 for 85 yards a TD over jays everyday.

he IS part of the reason we won!

he took hits, ran for a couple extra yards when it was there, avoided a number of sacks, and threw a TD pass when it counted!

Good job marcus

FUCK you CharlieEFH, and fuck MacGyver, you said it would get worse with Stone at the helm and you were wrong, could not have been more wrong, nobody here, or at NCSU would rather watch Davis throw 300 yds and lose the game for us, Marcus is tough, he played smart, and he is an athlete, and not a pussy, it is fun to have a QB that does not play scared 100% of the time

if i were you i would not even try to defend myself, you put yourself SO FAR onto one side of an argument there is nothing you can do!

go away

i think what everyone is trying to say is that

with stone: good ball control/movement; nothing spectacular but nothing back-breaking.
with davis: shaky ball control/movement; not enough good plays to validate the bad ones

we're not saying stone wins the games, but stone is enough of a non-bonehead to not lose them

See, that long completion to Tramain was exactly why we play better with Stone in. Not that he's going to throw the ball downfield a lot, but they still have to respect it.
