Anyone playing this? Critics have been raving about this game everywhere. I might pick it up tomorrow. Heh, between this, DDR, and my DK bongos people are gonna think I'm some kind of fruit. Even if I don't like this game, it has eBay gold written all over it.

gosh like 99% of those songs would be easy for any amateur. but i guess if the songs were really hard to play they wouldnt have much of an audience for the game haha

The awesome part of this game is that it intuitively feels like playing a damn guitar. Believe it or not...it has hammer-ons/pull offs/ pinky stretches -- all the while you have to strum a little switch at the bottom either by picking down or back and forth - just like the real thing.

You literally tilt the guitar up like you are rearing for a solo to send it into frenzy mode (multipliers) + the guitar gets all reverby and overdrive and the crowd starts cheering. The controller senses the tilt automatically.

Also, the guitar comes with a strap and shit...........sadly enough , I romp around the room to this f'n game like a retard with no care. It's severly great.

There was a PC game like this back in '95 called "Quest for Fame" that featured Aerosmith songs and a "V-Pick" controller. I tried it and thought it was lame...the controller for this game and the features that have been described make it seem like it could actually be quite a bit of fun.

Best Buy in Cary is sold out, but Gamestop says that they'll have it in tomorrow. For some reason, their computers say the release is TODAY.

The Best Buy in Raleigh has one left according to their computers.

"Higher Ground" is fun as shit to play for real...it's probably more fun when you don't have to worry about hitting all the real notes perfectly.

There better be a stipulation on the Ramones song that you're not allowed to play upstrokes.

those button things aren't on the strings, they're in the gaps between them. 5 gaps = 6 strings

last i checked you have to fret a string, not press the space between a string.

if you look at the guitar controller, the buttons are aligned to play more like chords rather than playing a particular string.

So I've been playing this for a few hours. It's a hell of a lot of fun, even if you can actually play. A few moves here and there aren't intuitive for a real player, but the songs on the third level and above ("No One Knows", "Ziggy Stardust", "Take it Off", etc.) are too much fun to play.

It pissed me off when I showed this game to my little brother and he, who plays bass guitar, was already better than me after 3 songs.

i beat the game on medium mode... hard mode is really kicking my ass. having to jump over to the fifth fret button is counterintuitive for me.

I'm thinking about picking this up. Is there a way to change the guitar for left-handers?

the prob with setting it to left hand is the guitar is still designed for right handed players; ie, the whammy bar would be at the top and in the way of your strumming.

I was hanging out with vinylbandit last week and I tried it out. I must say that even though I have absolutely no musical talent and I have never once picked up a guitar in my entire life, this game was extremely fun.
