Uhhh Hello? We won 1 game! I know it was a big win and gives us a good shot to go bowlin, but c'mon, we should be like 6-2 not 4 and 4. There is no way I can justify the loss to Carolina or Wake, C'mon, we should be contenders here not spoilers. But still, great win! I think we can win out if we keep runnin the ball like this!

its outstanding that we beat florida state, i couldn't be happier.

but this is precisely the problem that i think everyone has with the program...absolute inconsistency. Its great to knock off top rated teams but if you cant beat the clemson's of the world then what does it really matter.

i think theres definately some truth to our players considering fsu the rivalry, and not unc

I really dont buy that. I think that if you rush for 180 yards on anyone and limit turnovers you can win the game.

We couldn't rush at all vs. UNC.... and I dont think we did much vs. Wake either (I didn't get to see that game)

Not at all... but for some reason (Andre Brown), we've been able to run well recently when we haven't been able to all season



Put it this way, without 180 yards yesterday we don't beat FSU. With 180 vs Wake or UNC, we win those games.


I don't think it's streakiness that made us beat FSU... it's the fact that we ran the ball well and didn't turn it over.

i kind of think you are contradicting yourself...its our inconsitency that makes it a complete crapshoot whether or not we turn the ball over a million times, and our hyped beyond belief running attack sometimes just doesnt show up

Why are the game stats not up on ESPN.com? The attack seemed pretty even balanced to me....maybe favoring the run a little more. Gotta remember stone tried to throw a bunch and never got the ball off...but at least he didnt lose a million yards in the process.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I agree a lot.

I do think the reason we can run the ball now is becuase of the change that happened in the backfield (Whether it be Brown or Stone) and not just becuase of inconsistent OLine play. It'll be interesting to see if we can continue it.... or like you said... they forget to show up one week

teams are gonna adjust to our run game. Our O-line is gonna have to counter it. We don't have the power and size to line up and run the ball down teams throats every game. Stone is going to have to mature very very quickly

well, if you noticed last night, FSU stacked the box almost on every play, and we still had some success running it. Even the announcers were saying "Florida State is DARING Marcus Stone to throw the ball on every play"

I agree with that statement on paper, but who knows at this point...this is the wierdest season I have ever seen.

Notice BC is next.


BC is very different from the rest of the ACC. They're a smashmouth, old-Nebraska style team. I hope we can find some lanes with their physical defense.

you mean like what FSU did? Seriously, do you even watch the game. What happened was that we only had a couple of run plays go long or make first downs. That's all we need if we don't turn the ball over. Furthermore, stone actually moved the sticks at key times and made a TD, pass.

I'd still be more concerned about offensive blocking schemes and plays that will work. We obviously had a few that worked in the last 2 games, and I hope we come up with some that will work against whatever adjustments BC might make.

Regardless of how many the had in the box, thier safeties were on the line a lot more than they would have been if we had a passing threat

They did not put 8 in the box that many times. fsu stays in a 4-3 man defense, and very seldomly comes out. They might go to a nickel at times, and take nickelson out of the game. Yesterday, their safeties just either got ran the fuck over, or, got taken out by our huge t-ends

fsu played a 4-3 BASE DEFENSE that doesnt mean they can only have 7 guys in hte box. they brought blitzes up off the safety corner u name it. they even had 7 or 8 in the box on some 3rd and long situations. fsu is one of the best run ds in the country. they know what theyre doing. andre brown is just that good. give him his props. the only thing that can beat us at this point is us (turnovers and penalties)
