Pat Robertson warns Pa. town of disaster

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson warned residents of a rural Pennsylvania town Thursday that disaster may strike there because they "voted God out of your city" by ousting school board members who favored teaching intelligent design.

All eight Dover, Pa., school board members up for re-election were defeated Tuesday after trying to introduce "intelligent design" - the belief that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power - as an alternative to the theory of evolution.

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city," Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club."

Eight families had sued the district, claiming the policy violates the constitutional separation of church and state. The federal trial concluded days before Tuesday's election, but no ruling has been issued.

Later Thursday, Robertson issued a statement saying he was simply trying to point out that "our spiritual actions have consequences."

"God is tolerant and loving, but we can't keep sticking our finger in his eye forever," Robertson said. "If they have future problems in Dover, I recommend they call on Charles Darwin. Maybe he can help them.""

I watched that episode of trading spouses. As a Christian, I am absolutely 100% ashamed. She is so closed so unbelievably hateful. She makes Pat Robertson look like Michael Newdow.

She's crazy, and Christianity only serves as a conduit for expressing her bat-shittiness.

It could just as easily be a devotion to Hootie and the Blowfish.

This woman said she TALKED TO GOD. How is anyone suppose to argue with that? You're a faithless God-hater if you try.

""If Wal-Mart, which is the family-friendly institution, gets away with this, then all the other department stores will just fall into line," he told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The dispute erupted after a Wal-Mart worker responded to a woman who complained that the company was replacing "Merry Christmas" with "Happy Holidays." The response described Christmas as a combination of world traditions from Siberian shamanism to Visigoth calendars.

On the TV show this was from (Trading Spouses, I watched the show), this woman clearly says she talked to God.

It's the same kind of thing when Christians argue they know they're right because the Bible is the protected word of God, or that God told them something was so. You can't really argue with that, in a way to change their mind. You just have to brush them off as insane.

how do you know she isn't a prophet??

I mean, what other than her say, do you have to go off of?

If some seemingly normal person came to you and told you she was a prophet, you would believe them?

I had a girlfriend break up with me in 9th grade on God's orders. Claimed that the decision came straight from him. There are more people in America like this than you think.

I remember when I use to go to church (2 years ago), they said that if I didn't hear God talking to me, it's because I wasn't listening hard enough. For some people, this would put a lot of pressure on them to hear God, and who knows what they'll hear... It's like they want people to go nuts.

So if 85% of people believe turtles are responsible for the motion of the planets, what do you call them?

I call them idiots because it has been PROVEN BEYOND DOUBT that turtles are not responsible. If you or any other scientist have any PROOF, please come forward otherwise stfu.

It was still one of the most ironic things I have ever heard:

Quote :
"Get the HELL out of my house, IN JESUS NAME!"

I just felt badly for her daughter (the dancer one... not the one who was 25 still living at home... she could leave whenever she wanted to). Even her husband was like "holy shit... not only is she fat, ugly, and I'm not sure if that's a missing tooth or a really large gap... she's FUCKING CRAZY TOO!"

Hmmm. The motion of the planets is not proportional to turtles, considering TURTLES WERE NOT AROUND WHEN THE PLANETS WERE FORMED. You people never cease to amaze me how shallow you really are. You call yourselves "open-minded" but you are actually the most closed-minded people I have ever delt with.

I like the little note at the end where it said "[Crazy woman] has rethought her decision and has decided to accept the money" after she tore up the letter and went crazy about how it was the devil's money.

The hippy mom even gave her 20k to make herself not fucking fat.
