Just like the subject says...I need a good software package to use to backup our main computer here at the office. I have a 16x DVD burner that I'll be using to make the backups.

I have used a few of these. (Trying to keep clients away from Tapes) right now one of my clients is using Handy Backup and a few others use something Intel Bundles with their motherboards. email me if Handy doesn't work for you and I'll look up that Intel bundled software.

Here's the catch...more data than will fit on a CD-R(W) in compressed form. Uncompressed, today's files were over 5GB.

I'd like something that would ideally perform an entire system backup, perhaps with a bootable CD (if I were to use multiple disk backups)...is there even such a thing?

The big deal is this: right now, I'm indispensable (or somewhat so without having to call in outside help; luckily, our copier service tech also does computer stuff, but at a COST). I'm looking to make this pretty much a plug-and-play operation for my dad so he can do backups once a week, maybe twice a week, without me here to coach him or do it for him.

sounds like the best thing to do here is to get an external harddrive. they ussally come with back up software that allows u to schedule backups . initially it cost more but in the long run, it may be cheaper than using 100s of blank dvds.

^ I would go with that instead. Keep multiple images of backups. Then less frequently back up to disc.
