My harddrive has recently decided it doesn't want to work.. when I try and boot up my computer it goes into a cycle of trying to reboot, every now and then I can get it into safemode and i've run virus checkers to make sure i don't have any virus. Now the latest time i tried booting up it says
"1720-SMART Hard drive detects imminent failure (Failing attr: 05)".
How screwed am I?

If you get it to boot again don't waste your time with virus scans...back up your data ASAP!

Don't try to boot it anymore, get another hard drive. Install windows on the new one, then plug this in as slave and get the data off if you can.

ohhh, this is a laptop.... I bought a 60 gig 7200 rpm one last year for about $100 if I remember. $15 can score you an external enclosure so you can hook the old one up usb style.
