would it work if i installed a 2nd nic in my PC and just had smoothwall running in MS virtual pc?

i want to use it as my router and firewall. specifically, i want to block bittorrent traffic with iptables using this guide: http://www.lowth.com/rope/BlockingBittorrent

1) how would i install a browser on smoothwall so i can get to download the rope module and iptables script because it doesn't even have the lynx command line browser? (i'm a linux newb and virtual pc newb so i got nothing going for me here)

2) is smoothwall 'more configureable' than my current linksys router? from the startup options in setup it doesn't seem to be, but the potential is there using iptables and whatever. should i go with smoothwall or some other linux install?

the Sveasoft firmware for Linksys WRT54g routers works well for me, its got way more options than the basic stuff, and I gave up Smoothwall for it

http://www.sveasoft.com/

its at least an option if you've got the WRT54G or WRT54AP
