As posted on another thread....NCSU recieves #14 overall seed into tourney (out of 48 teams). The top 16 teams get seeded and recieve a first round bye. In our case we face the winner of Clemson/Coastal Carolina at Method road next Tuesday on the 22nd.
This should be the last ever post season game at Method Road since there is a new stadium being built at Derr, so hopefully we can retire the place to a packed crowd. I hope we have a rowdy crowd (European style, drums, chants, flares(prob. not flares))The game will probably be around 1 or 2pm. Anyone trying to tailgate before hand?

thats all the updates you need.. what an uninspired effort from State, it makes me sick. The defense was unorganized, the midfield was never in the game, and our forwards were just plain lazy. The only bright spot was a fantastic save on a header by Gonzales in the first half.

I usually dont care about soccer but clemson just made it to the final four (and i love clemson). I might try and get over to cary for the final four match on friday. Does anyone know how hard it is to get tickets to it?

they say tickets are going fast but i doubt they have sold put...i wouldnt try to get them at the gate though...also, they may not be selling single day tickets

alright thanks. Ill think ill just go ahead and get some tickets for friday and sunday and make a trip out of it. It would be nice to see clemson in the chamionship game but i would still go to it if they didnt make it.

I was about to go to the game down in clemson but it was on a friday but since i was working it just didnt work out.

Maryland won 4-1 (I missed that game but dude told me Maryland hung 4 on em in the last 5 minutes)



UNM beat Clemson 2-1, Clemson missed a last-second shot because it bounced off the top bar into the keeper's hands.



On a side note, I have NEVER seen soccer "fans" - note the use of quotation marks - as poorly behaved as Clemson's. NEVER. It was fucking rediculous. Their fans not only made their SCHOOL look bad, but they made the ENTIRE ACC look bad.

Standing behind the goal, pounding on it and chanting "LO-BO HO-MOS" and other chants of that ilk, especially in a situation where there are almost as many (if not more) children as adults is about as irresponsible as you can get.

Screaming things at a keeper who has been severely hurt by your chippy forward who can't accept the fact that the defense keeps beating him is the ultimate example of POOR SPORTSMANSHIP.

In case you didn't know, soccer was built around the idea of sportsmanship from both its players AND the fucking fans. If you've never been to a soccer game, and you don't know how to act, you've got no fucking place showing up at the College Cup and making your entire fanbase look like a bunch of shitstains.

i was standing right by those guys...many of them were older men...they had to bring security back there after new mexico's 1st goal...i thought there was gonna be fisticuffs

^ maryland dominated possession, smu was a very dirty team but couldnt really push maryland around...maryland scored with maybe 2 minutes left in the first half...and the floodgates opened in the second...they scored 3 goals in the first 4 minutes of the second half...including 2 within 15 seconds, both by jason garey (most likely national player of the year)

You know, the English invented the modern game AND the concept of tormenting the keeper.

I watched the replay of the guy getting stepped on at least half a dozen times, and in my eyes he was embellishing quite a bit. Clemson caught a hell of a terrible break on that last set piece, too.

If you were there today, you noticed how the security guys kept people from dwelling behind that goal, too.




I'm not saying heckling isn't ok, or that it's not part of the game, but those Clemson fans were fucking AWFUL and made everyone in the ACC look bad.

The Clemson fans were rough, but I couldn't stand the Maryland fans, either day. And we all know that if we were in it we would have done the same, and I include myself in that. Plus the only way it made the ACC fans look bad was because the other schools didn't have their students there.
