i just got a evga 6600gt today set up with my dual monitor system

it can play games perfectly fine and at damn high resolutions too, but it shits itself when i play any video in WMP or try to launch WinFast's TV tuner program. i don't get it. i tried dscaler and powerdvd with no luck as well.

the program (either WMP or the tuner program) will start using 92-97% of the CPU and now that I downgraded the drivers to 77.77 I can get to the task manager to end the program even though my mouse moves only once every 4 seconds. but with the newer drivers, it'll just go into a blue screen saying nv4_disp has caused an infinite loop.

i'd rather keep my 9700 pro if this shit is the best mid-range card out right now.

edit: would it have something to do with hardware video acceleration? i thought it might be having problems with acceleration and dual monitors so i disabled the dual setup and it does the same thing with just one monitor as well.

if it was me i'd make a backup image of my C drive and reinstall windows and test it then. if it worked, get data from backup, if not, just re-image it and get a new card.

On a side note newegg has the Leadtek TV2000XP for $9.99 after rebate. Just picked one up for my sister for Christmas.

I haven't set it up yet.

90% of the people on their say it's a good card. Apparently the installation CD sucks. But for the most part people say it's good. You can't expect it to out perform a $100+ card. Can't be as bad as VCR quality.
