Watching him play Fresno State last night got me thinking...
I can't remember seeing a college running back do what he does. If you've ever watched video clips of these 4 and 5-star running backs in high school...it's like they are a level above the competition...blowing past them, making them look stupid with cutbacks, running all over the field not getting caught. Reggie Bush does this to college players. His explosion through holes, cutbacks without slowing down, and breakaway speed is a combination I haven't seen on the college level(and I'm young, so I guess that's not saying much).
The only thing he doesn't have is a lot of power (he does have power, just not a lot). I don't like USC...but it's getting to the point where I want to watch the whole game just I can watch his every carry, reception, and kick return. The last time I did that was when Barry Sanders use to play. 11/20/2005 1:05:25 PM |

what he did last night was incredible and terribly impressive
but seriously...did fresno state play defense? they were walking around with their hands in their pockets the whole game 11/20/2005 1:16:30 PM |

Yeah same here. He's fucking nasty. I got mad when he kept scoring last night, but I'd laugh at the same time because he is really unstoppable.
Only thing I disagree with is his power. I think he has adequate power. He showed that during the ND game. He's not going to push a pile consistently, but he has enough strength to break one on one tackles and push one or two defenders back.
p.s...USC's D won that game last night. Just too many big plays with perfect timing, even though they gave up a few too many yards.

I think he has adequate power too...just not great power. Like...I think LaDanian Tomlinson has more power than Reggie Bush...and they are of similar size. Bush has enough power to be an every down back...but he's not going to get the carry on a 3rd and 1 or on the goal line.
But that doesn't take anything away from him being an amazing back. He definitely has enough of the other tangibles to outweigh the lack of power. 11/20/2005 1:21:54 PM |

im interested in seeing how he does on a below average offense next year (or the year after in the unlikely scenario that he stays) as opposed to playing in the USC travelling circus of an offense 11/20/2005 1:24:21 PM |

I just looked at this stats....He has 163 carries, averaging 8.3 yards pc. Fucking ridiculous. Plus the returns and receiving yards. 11/20/2005 2:01:05 PM |

No one is giving any credit to leinart...Have you noticed his stats this year? they are double what they were last year when he won the heisman. I think that its possible that white, bush, and leinart are all in New york in december and i htink vince young will win b/c voters will cancel each other out voting for a USC player. 11/21/2005 12:55:50 AM |

that game further proves west coast teams in general don't play any defense and can't tackle. Thier o-line opened up nice holes time and time again but those fresno st. players just watched him run right by. 11/21/2005 8:50:02 AM |
