You and your "best friend" of two years had made plans to go out on a friday night and she never called and ignored your phone calls all night long....bc she was tired and didnt feel like telling me she didnt want to go out. The thing is...I could have done a million other things..than wait on her that night.

ok i agree dont dwell on it too much but i would be pretty upset to cuz it's not like she couldnt get to her phone or something...and like you said you could have been doing a lot of other things then sitting around trying to get up with her...if she made plans and then wanted to back out she should have at least had the common courtesy to tell you.

Ha...I do that shit all the time. Only I would have come up with a good lie instead of saying I was a tired.

I've got this problem with turning people down. So instead I just ignore them. Thank god for caller id.

Gee, I don't know, but I'd probably only feel about 1/100th as mad as I would if my best friend of four years tried to film me having sex.

Oh wait, that actually happened, so bitching about one fucked up evening.

I wouldn't be too mad because of the following reasons:

A. I do it to my friends all the time - because I hate saying no to going out, even with prior plans because they usually give me shit and I just don't wanna hear it so I screen the calls.

B. After "all night long", - without sounding like a dickhole - You should have just given up, cut your losses and hit up the bars alone or made a few more phone calls.

C. You've done it or will do it to her/him - maybe you don't know it, or don't believe it, but it will happen or it has happened already.

I really hate to tell my friends "hey, you know I don't really feel like going out anymore" so I just wait until "out" has already happened, it's gone and forgotten about and I talk to them in the morning. Never had a problem and they understand. So, be like "listen you owe me a drink for bumming out on me" - they'll agree because they know what they did sucks and it will even the score.

I had plenty of other things to do, and its not the first time she's done something like this. My fiance was away on business, so we had planned a girls night out. she thinks she did nothing wrong and is actually pissed at me cause I left her a bad message????

Find out if she was down about something, depressed. If she was available and didn't answer that's a possibility. Otherwise I would say she probably didn't feel like talking at the time. I do that to my friend occasionally. She fusses me out for it but understands because I don't like talking on the phone. But if a friend and I had plans to do a girl's night thing, I would most definitely email or phone her if I was too tired. Probably email since I also would feel bad. If she's done that before find out if she has a mental condition of some sort. Seriously. I was diagnosed with ADD recently, started a medication, and now I feel a lot more normal and interested in hanging out with friends, and I have phoned friends and family more frequently than before.

there's no way you are 22 years old

maybe if you were dating someone for 2 years and then they ignored your calls all night

but it's a friend

who the fuck cares

actually I just turned 23 on the 15th.

I care about someone who is that dishonest and lacks that much respect for a friend. Its different with guys...they dont care if someone screws them over...they just carry on. I wish I had the ability to do that. I guess I just have to much integrity...and I hold grudges.

i'd be pissed. like somebody said above, you two had plans and she stood you up. and again, like somebody else said above, people need to not be such pussies and just own up when they don't want to go out. so you'll take some crap. so what?

on the other hand, never sit around waiting for somebody. if it looks like you're getting bailed on, find something else to do. no use having a bad night 'cause your friend's being inconsiderate.

Yup, I'd be pissed too. Standing you up AND not calling back shows lack of respect towards you. (I'm not sure if I'd leave a pissy message on the phone, but that's just me.)

You gave up the highground.

"The thing is...I could have done a million other things..than wait on her that night"

Once it became clear she wasnt going to respond I think you should of picked one of those instead of building up a good mad.

Basically she was in the wrong, but it should not be a big deal in a real friendship that you had one less night on the town if it was only a one time thing.

it takes two fucking seconds to answer the phone and cancel plans

the one that needs to grow the fuck up is the bitch that sat there and let the phone ring.

a lot of girls do that. in the future with a girl like that, the trick is to never take any plans you schedule with her seriously. make plans, act excited, but still consider her your backup plans, and find someone who'd be more fun to be around anyway.

Fuck that. I bitch anybody out who bullshits me. I almost NEVER (I can recall perhaps once in the past five years) pull that on anyone. I at least give a phone call. She should return the same level of respect you give to her.
