Just about every pundit has been doing this petulant shit on fox every show for the last week.

They say when people say or have signs that say 'happy holidays', it offends them, becuase they are the majority. They want all businesses to be forces to wish people merry christman.

Dillard's Department Stores puts "merry christmas" on all of it's holiday signs...

and nobody cares... nobody complains, in fact, nobody says anything about it at all, they just keep shopping...

except for the religious right, who lauds it as a grand statement...

which just goes to show that they're the only ones who actaully give a fuck about this

i understand political correctness to a degree, but this really is a stupid debate.

i mean, lets say you are a christian and say merry xmas to a jew. whether you know he's a jew or not you are still saying have a merry xmas, because thats what time of the year it is to you. if you prefer to say happy holidays instead, go for it, but it isnt like you are trying to make him feel bad or supporting xmas somewhere you shouldnt.

its like when some old nun says god bless you. i dont jump down her throat when i know shes just trying to be nice. now if she says it in some malicious or condescending way, then i might be pissed. best example would be the woman at GA Tech that said i need to tell jesus i was sorry if i had an abortion (i mean walked up to me and said it). bitch get out of my face, dont be assuming what you think is negative shit about me.

so that said, keep it out of government buildings and dont push your shit and you're fine.

There are some on both sides that give a fuck, but the religious right for the most part does blow it out of proportion. The next time I'm at church when somebody says something about liberals, I'm going to take them to court.

sean gave her plenty of time, and whereas he warned her not to name any more store names, he certainly didn't oppose what she said and continued to give her air time

"How many holidays do Americans celebrate during December?"

I mean, we don't celebrate just one specific holiday. On December 24th and 25th, "Merry Christmas" is the most appropriate phrase. During the other 29 days of December, "Happy Holidays" is the optimal phrase.
