I've got an 80 gig right now, and it's to the point where I'm having to delete things when I want to put new stuff on the comp, so it's obviously time to upgrade. Would it be easier/better to just get a 160 gig and replace the 80, or to add on a 160 gig and have both on there? 11/30/2005 9:17:03 AM |

This computer was built a few years ago, so I don't have a SATA hard drive. Will adding one that is cause problems? I am not totally clear on everything about SATA drives.
V yeah, I just thought about that after I posted this. I have no idea if it can support it, but since it's older, I doubt it can. The other one I have is an IDE, so it looks like I'll just be waiting till I do a total overhaul of the computer before I start messing with that.

you won't be able to add one if your computer doesn't support it. 11/30/2005 9:57:43 AM |

You can get a 200gig for about 80 bucks on newegg 11/30/2005 10:08:04 AM |

Does brand matter? I already have a Western Digital in there, and it's seemed to be fine, so I was just going to hop on newegg and find a 100+ gig one and stick it in there.
Does it just become the slave drive and you hook it up on the same cable as the other hard drive? 11/30/2005 10:08:21 AM |

no brand doesn't matter. yes, you can hook it up as the slave on the same cable as the first HD. 11/30/2005 10:08:53 AM |
