anyone else notice all the moving screens that Iowa set last night. I only saw two called, but they were everywhere. Not making excuses, just making an observation.

^^^A very good point. Brunner could have been called for unneccessary roughness out there, I mean he was throwing better blocks than our o-line, course that doesn't take much.

Swank I'm not going anywhere. I just am making an observation on what I saw. I'm not pulling stuff from the air here (i.e. claiming that there was an obvious slant in the officiating). I saw it, I TiVo'ed it, I watched it again, and then determined that there were two or three moving screens on one offensive possession for Iowa that were not called. I know what a moving screen looks like, and I saw it more than a few times. Obviously the refs did not see the same things, but they should have. I'm not making excuses. We didn't hit our shots, and they made us pay by getting transition baskets.

Yeah, I know. I'm not sure why they have Big 10 refs to begin with. Shit, I'm not sure if I'd want to have ACC refs for that matter. 12/1/2005 9:48:59 AM |

It's hard to imagine anyone being worse than ACC refs...

yeah, I thought that our referees couldn't be beaten in their suckiness. I was soooo wrong. The ACC/Big (11) Ten Challenge is really not to see whose teams are better, it's to see whose refs are worse. The Big(11)Ten won last night.... 12/1/2005 9:56:10 AM |

Hopefully this game may help our time get ready for a more physical team in a game called by Big Ten (or Big Ten-like refs in the tournament). I'll take a loss here if we learn to beat a Wisconsin or Vanderbilt in the tournament. I'm convinced that a big part of Duke's underachievement in March is not being able to deal with other teams playing them physical, something ACC refs will not let happen. 12/1/2005 9:59:09 AM |

I just wish that the refs last night would have watched a little better for the moving screen. Maybe Herb should have worked the refs a little on this point....

Wisconson game last year....on about 5 posessions in a row. You just dont get that open for a dunk against our D unless you have a break away. Oh well. Last night was a totally different story. We got fucked on some calls, but we sucked.12/1/2005 10:56:10 AM |
