Yeah good thing the local government never requested, and in fact refused federal assistance. I could go through and pick out quotes from earlier threads for some good old fashioned crow eating, but I'll leave that to someone that cares more. 12/4/2005 9:38:06 PM

I agree that the federal government was slow to act, but this all comes the states over dependency on the federal government. The state governments should be able to be more self sufficient than this. And there is still no excuse for Nagin not to have gotten those people out of there with all those school buses.
