Uhhh according to what I know, Sony hasn't released "official" specs on the PS3 yet.

And Sony royally pissed me the fuck off by misleading everyone at E3 with FMV/CGI "demos" and NOT ingame shots.

oh

i figured since blueray was gonna be the next big thing ps3 would be the shit cause standalone players are gonna come out at around 1000, but the ps3 will most definitely not be

hopefully HD-DVD steamrolls bluray.

Also estimated bluray device prices are probably all bullshit.

I'm willing to bet that Blueray goes the way of the Memory stick

aka, its sony's proprietary bullshit.

How many times have you been in this situation, where your friend runs out of space on his sony digital camera, asks around if anyone has memory sticks. Everyone else pulls out pockets full of SD cards.

Happens at my regattas all the time.

i dont think it would even get that far if it fails. Maybe it ends up like those dumb UD things the PSP uses. The only device that uses bluray will be the ps3.

i mean MS is doing some heavy native support of HD-DVD.

Sony is going to use Java for their blueray feature support on pcs.

They can't possibly go in a worse direction.

Several major movie studios have already put their support behind blu-ray.

Lucas said that he'd never distribute the new SW series on DVD because he wasn't convinced that it was the "next" media.

<looks at his Ep3 DVD sitting on the coffee table>

Hollywood is full of trifflin whores.

They also "supported" laser discs

Laserdisc is the only way to get digital transfers of the unfuX0red trilogy.

lets take a look at who supports HD-dvd

Toshiba
Microsoft
Intel
hitachi
NEC

etc...

so all the people who actually matter are in favor if HD-dvd.

talking out of your ass is fine on tww as long as you have non-retarded reasons for doing so and admit you are wrong when presented relevant material.

that said, xbox is my fav, but up until the fmv fiasco i was puttin my money on ps3.

that FMV thing didn't get nearly enough words in the online "press" (aka 13 year olds with keyboards and a "press-pass").

they all fucking knew about it too.

blue ray has more sponsors, including most of the companies that actually make the computer drives

this is gonna be a pain, the nice thing about DVD+R and -R is that, although different formats, the same player could play both disks.. apparently thats not nearly as possible with these two disks..

but yeah..
microsoft just pushed their box out too fast..
I guess they're going to release some sort of upgrade or 2nd edition of the 360 that uses HD-DVD.. 'havnt looked too much into it
and sony has enough software venders backing them, EA in particular, though EA seems to support about everything anyways..

i doubt it will go anywhere truthfully. everyone knows MS is always being accused of stuff and probably wont put stock in it.

no doubt, on g4 im pretty sure they reported the opposite. i heard them say that ppl accused sony of it being a FMV and sony implied that it was actual gameplay. i about flipped with excitement.

Xbox 360 Gamers Holding Out Until PS3

Posted Dec 4, 2005, 8:29 PM ET

According to Nielsen Media Research, 50 percent of video gamers will not buy an Xbox 360 until Sony Releases the PlayStation 3.

The report by Neilsen Media Research, which suggest that 50 percent of video gamers will not buy an Xbox 360, are video gamers holding out until the Sony PlayStation 3.

Sony PS3 just might be smart waiting until the Xbox 360 dust clears, but right now Microsoft has dominated the video game console market. Another company that can
learn from Microsoft Xbox 360 mistakes is Nintendo, as they prepare for their next-gen Nintendo Revolution.

The Neilsen report also suggests that video gamers are being smart, and not buying the first next-gen video console, until they know exactly which console is best for them.

In recent days, there have been a flood of problems concerning the Xbox 360, from overheating issues to scratched discs. However, Microsoft reported two days ago that only 3 percent of the Xbox 360 units were having issues. Some video gamers feel that the number should be higher.

Sony and Microsoft are both banking on their next-gen consoles, and both are losing money on every console sale in an attempt to dominate the console market. Lowering the price also offers a more affordable unit. Some gamers think that the cost burden is with buying the video games, not the console."

poorly worded, but my roommate and i fall into that category

That is poorly worded. It is pretty well known that in terms of numbers, Sony is dominating right now with the PS2.

If half of the gamers are not waiting til the PS3, then Microsoft wins. Even close to half of the amrket share before competition arrives is quite a big headstart. Not to mention that Nintendo will have a say around the same time as Sony launches.
