Here's my question: If I subscribe to a certain digital package with TWC, if I travel to another house that subscribes to TWC as well, just not the same package as I do, would I be correct in assuming I can bring my own cable box with me to that other house and see what I subscribe to? The assumption here is that all the channels are broadcast over the cable, but the subscription channels are decrypted client side....

ive gone about 3 miles to a friends house and had my box still work. i dont know how far you can get away from your original location before they start MAC/IP filtering. im not sure of the limit to be honest.

as long as you're on the same switch that has your box/modem provisioned... whether you can travel anywhere in raleigh, or only within a 5 mile radius (for example) is the question..

but in theory, it should work.. worse case is the box won't show anything or will show exactly what your subscription tells it to show.
