ha, i forgot about them too. but i probably wouldn't have gone either way. i don't think it should be too bad. test 3 should be pretty straight-forward. there are only a few topics from which he can ask questions...and none of them are hard.

as for the final, i don't think i'll be taking that because i don't want to go back over test 1 and 2 material...but, i would guess it would be similar to previous test questions...not too difficult

it was pretty good today.. he stayed an extra 20 minutes and there were about 20 of us there getting great secrets for his exam questions... practically handed us the exam!

true. he gave key and vast insight into how he chooes problems for the exam. i've never felt as prepared as i feel now after having gone to the review session.

How do you determine the symbol rate that uses the entire band knowing the channel bandwidth?

On HW#8, Problem 2:
The channel bandwidth is 100kHz, which gives an fs=66.6kbaud

On '04 Quiz 3, Problem 3:
The channel bandwidth is 6MHz -> fs=3Ms/s

No explanation as to where these numbers came from

W = (1 + r) * W_N

W = 1.5 * W_N

W = 100 kHz

W_N = 66.7 kHz

f_s' = W_N = 66.7 kbaud

quiz 3 problem 3....

W = (1 + r)WN = 2fs ... and r = 1

2150-2156 MHz so that means the W is 6 mhz...(channel bandwidth) and therefore, Wn=Fs(bandpass)
and so w=2fs so fs=3Ms/s and Wn = 3MHz

final part was easy.

for some reason, questions 3, 4 on white really got me. q3 i just couldn't get after an hour of trying everything i could think of. by the time i was on 4, i was pissed tired and not in the mood, so i didn't put too much thought into it. quiz3 will def be the one to be dropped for me.

hah, i was backwards. i completely stalled on Q3 and got a 70. but on the final i got a 99...yay!

but i kinda figured i was going to do worse on that one about half way through, so i knew it was going to be dropped and i just let it slide.

my raw average is an A..i wonder if he'll curve. i mean, i know he will, i just want my official grade

crappy and crappy. 66 and 72. i was surprised i did better on the final since i didn't prepare for that one...and apparently i made some big mistakes on quiz 3. luckily i did better on my first 2 tests, but a crappy hw average hurt me. my final average was 75.1...a C+ will do i suppose. i should have done work in this class.
