Any here in ENG 265 with Knowles or has had him before? I take his final on Monday and I am really worried about it. I havent done to well in his class. D+ on first test C+ on second test and C+ on the paper. I have looked at his grade distrubutions and he has very little D's and F's. Does he curve final grades? Any advice or comments welcome!!

I just took the final this morning - wasn't bad at all. Just know how to argue/describe the optimism and pessimism of the authors (he told us this in class last Friday), and you'll get the essay question rather easily.

I have been struggling with Whitman and Thoreau. I also never get the comments right. On the first 2 tests, i thought I would and then I would only get 1 or 2 points. Im also confused on what u mean by optimism and pessimism.

I meant that some of the authors (throughout the entire course) are optimistic, or display optimism. Others are pessimistic. Know which ones are which, and how to elaborate on a few of them.

Is there anyone else here who has had Knowles or has taken the final for ENG 265 in his other section that can comment or give advice. Does anyone know if he curves Final grades. He has a very good grade distrubution in past classes, but I know more then half my class is doing really bad.
