im thinking of giving someone a tv as a gift. they have a 20" tv now. what would be a comparable tv size in widescreen to give them. a 20" widescreen or a 23" widescreen.

also are their gonna be better deals around the super bowl for all tvs?

a 20" should be roughly the same size. unless im wrong the width increase should be bigger than the height decrease so if anything it'll be slightly bigger. wont be insanely thinner or anything. im sure either would be fine.

if they watch something in widescreen it will be bigger

but if they watch a non wide show (non HD) and don't modify it to take up the whole screen the "square" will be smaller

I'd say at least 23" 16*9 should be what you need to get, at least

yeah i said the right thing but put the wrong conclusion. it shouldnt be painfully smaller, but the closer the better im sure.
