the best basketball recruiting class this year Greg Oden makes this class better than UNC's http://ohiostate.rivals.com/commitlist.asp?sport=2&year=2006&school=56 12/9/2005 2:04:33 AM |

Actually, Ohio State has four five-stars, UNC has three.
And it doesn't matter if Oden only lasts one year, he's still playing that year and he's still part of the recruiting class.
The "Thad Five" are going to be ridiculous. 12/9/2005 2:49:19 AM |

nah that site is way off, it doesn't even have position ranks
that lighty guy being a five star is a joke, it says hes a top 150 player and calls him a five star
and almost every site I've seen has thompson in the top 25 which certainly means five star, which if you look on the unc site he is
but arguing about this stuff is silly anyways12/9/2005 2:52:48 AM |

^^So basically what you're saying is that according to the sites that YOU want to use, UNC has four five-start commitments? Typical Tar Heel. 12/9/2005 2:55:34 AM |

oden didnt impress me tonite.
college basketball is insanely weak at the Center spot these days, so im sure he'll do okay but he has a long way to go.
i dont see him being the next Amare or Dwight Howard 12/9/2005 3:04:59 AM |

oden will easily average 4+ blocks a game as a freshman and be in the running for the all american team...
the quality big men will go pro this year and he'll be the star center...he has great timing as well...i think he'll easily average 15ppg, 8rpg and 4bpg to be at least honorable mention for the all american team as a freshman...you can call me out on it if he doesn't do that (injury won't count though) 12/9/2005 3:38:38 AM |

Rivals.com is pretty terrible with their basketall rankings.
Same way Scout.com is pretty terrible with their football rankings.12/9/2005 7:29:48 AM |

oden is not a dumb kid. I can see him staying more then one year. get him paired up with oj mayo in 2007 then this team will be sick.
my cousin teaches at lawarnce north and said that oden destroyed mcroberts when josh was a senior. 12/9/2005 7:40:00 AM |

Imagine if LeBron had decided to actually play in college and went to Ohio State like he said he would (I know Duke recruited him, blah, blah, I heard OSU was his choice if had gone to college). Man what a bad ass duo with Oden.

lebron never would have cleared the ncaa clearinghouse. he never had a chance of ever going to college. 12/9/2005 12:14:24 PM |

^ Yeah I realize all of that shit, he took an agent, got a hummer, etc. etc. But imagine if the rules today applied and for whatever reason LeBron stayed in college until his senior year when Oden arrived. I guess you could speculate the same with some of the Duke/UNC teams of the past that had big time talent leave early too. Anyway it was just a thought. 12/9/2005 12:23:15 PM |
