Pocket Internet Explorer supports HTML and WAP, allowing you to surf, shop, or trade online. The added security features help protect online shopping or access to corporate data. Wireless Synchronization with Personal Email or Corporate Outlook (ActiveSync) The i930 makes it easy to keep information on your mobile device synchronized with information on your desktop or notebook computer by using ActiveSync. ActiveSync can be configured to wirelessly synchronize on demand, or it can be configured to synchronize on an automated schedule. For example, ActiveSync can automatically check your e-mail, contacts, calendar and tasks - every 5, 10, or 30 minutes - in Microsoft Outlook for differences between the device and your computer and then make the necessary updates. Or you can synchronize on demand for updates whenever you need them. Multimedia Messaging Service Send or receive Multimedia Messages (either audio, images, text, or all three in the same message) to or from email addresses and other capable users. You can even wirelessly store multimedia on the Sprint web site. Click here to learn more about this new service. Infrared Port The i930 has the ability to connect via infrared beam to other infrared-enabled devices: Pocket PCs, PDAs, mobile phones, PCs, or other devices. Beaming is a great way to send your friends or co-workers pictures, audio files, your electronic business card or a calendar appointment. Smartdial Smartdial locate any contact quickly by displaying a list of contacts based on the letter or number you type in to search for. If you type in the numbers 566 to spell 'J','O','N', it will automatically display all your contacts with these three letters in them, so you don’t have to enter the entire name. Predictive Text Input The i930 supports T9® predictive text entry for entering text on using just one key press per letter. Ex., if you spell 'phone' by pressing, 7-4-6-6-3 on the keypad, T9 matches that sequence with "phone." If more than one word shares the same sequence, T9 provides the next most commonly used words. http://www.nextelmodz.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=122
i had one and kept it for less than a week because it had a problem where it was stuck in data communication all the time and would not take incomming calls or beeps. i also could not figure out how to work the fucker.
edit:
from what i just read you can get it "de-certified" now so that it will allow you to install non-nextel apps.

I'm getting either this or the 870 for christmas
haven't decided yet 12/14/2005 10:23:11 PM |

I have had them both and prefer the i870. If you will use the smartphone features the i930 is the way to go, but its too much bullshit to deal with if you wont. The i870 has bluetooth which is so handy for when you are on the phone with someone and they are babbling on and on and you dont feel like holding the phone to your head. 12/16/2005 12:22:44 PM |
