Anyone out there found this yet. If so, is it worth installing and messing with? 12/13/2005 12:37:15 AM |

It's never going to be worth messing with. Just use Linux. Windows Vista will include all that DRM bullshit that tries to dictate what you can and cannot do with your own machine. Fuck that. Microsoft and everyone else in the "trusted computing" alliance can go suck a goat dick. 12/13/2005 12:59:06 AM |

it hasn't been until the last ctp release that we've really seen what all is going to be included (the last build included ie7/mp11, etc. and they still haven't resolved the GUI yet), and as of november, microsoft has stated they are only going to release quality builds instead of time based builds, so wait at least until beta 2 comes out in jan/feb.

^Yea everyone, microsoft reps included, has said Beta2 will be the first version worth looking at from a end user's perspective. All the builds up this point have definitely been for developers. 12/13/2005 9:45:01 PM |

may be news to some, build 5270 december ctp is released...
some pretty sick features added like the usb drive for superfetch, among others included are IE7, wmp11, improved UI for windows defender, new improved UI of media center from 5231, improved firewall protects inbound/outbound, power-on/off has drastically improved, etc etc....
supposedly MS is to have a full featured vista by the end of December for internal use, from January til the final build will be nothing but security and code fixes... (i believe a couple features will show up in the final release, tho mostly GUI)
rumor has it beta2 will be for public release as well... we'll see 12/20/2005 10:41:38 AM |
