if the sideline seats are noticably vacant and we have student tickets for another section is it possible to move up?

do you mean for another student section or for some other random section?

In general, they aren't supposed to let you to the sidelines without a ticket for the sideline. There are people at the bottom of the stairs that go down there that are supposed to check your ticket, and there are people between the behind the goal seats and the sideline seats that are supposed to check ticket / stop you from moving over there.

In general, I would say you are more likely to be able to move there from other student seats behind the goal than paid seats. But it never hurts to try. All they will do is tell you to go back to your seats.

I really hate the new ticketing system. The ONLY reason why you have to get tickets 24-hrs in advance is so that when you forget you have to go up to the ticket office and buy one when the student section is completley emptey. That's rediculous.

The dudes in the RBC are cool though, I have been able to sneak in and move around at almost every single game so far.

duh . . . that is essentially what I said in my previous post. If you want to sit in the student section without a student ticket, your best bet is behind either goal right near where it turns from floor seats (numbered rows) to perm seats (lettered rows)



^I would imagine the reason for them not letting you move there is that those seats are given out and someone could come and claim and they don't want the headache of dealing with people complaining because someone is in their seats. Not that I agree with that, I think if you aren' there by tip-off, then you can sit your ass somewhere else. The RBC guys monitoring the floor sections behind the goals are pretty good about letting you move down towards the front around 5 min after tip-off. But moving to the sidelines just takes a little timing.

im talking about with a student ticket behind the goal trying to move to the sideline section that had at least 50 seats. there was a whole front row EMPTY for the miami game and i even tried one late in the first half.

Best way to move there is from the floor level behind the goal. You just have to pay attention to move over there. You need to move when the Staff guy by the edge of the court (kinda between the seats behind the goal and the sideline seats) moves away. Once in a while you will find a person there that doesn't care and lets you move.

if you have endzone seats then it is very easy to move, just tell the guy at the entrance to the sideline that you will leave if anyone wants the seats and that they are very empty and he should let you by. it has worked for me many times
