So a friend of mine went to nyc a while back, didnt realize his cellular plan was southeast only, and got a $700 bill
I'm on sprint pcs though, and they say that "Calls you make on the Sprint Nationwide PCS Network are free. Minutes of use and other network charges apply. International calling is not included."
I assume that I'm fine in nyc, but I just want to make sure and see if any of you with pcs have been to nyc and come back without a $700 phone bill 12/19/2005 3:53:29 PM |

make sure your phone is setup to only use sprintpcs signals
if you don't get a signal with that setup, switch it to either digital or analog, make a quick call and switch back

oh i got that covered. i have a treo, which is digital only, and roaming is disabled. It makes it pretty obvious if I'm roaming too, but i mean, in nyc surely there's no possibility for roaming :0 12/19/2005 3:57:27 PM |

well my friend wasn't on pcs. I'm just covering all my bases.
I have emailed sprint to ask, waiting on hold for 30 minutes isn't in the cards right now. 12/19/2005 4:13:21 PM |

they used to have regional plans. he needs to change his plan or he will be billed for roaming whenever he leaves the southeast (even if he is on spcs network). 12/19/2005 5:07:08 PM |

call them and select the option for people who want to cancel their service. it's an [old] trick, but it usually bumps you to the front of the queue. you end up talking with the same people anyway. 12/19/2005 5:11:15 PM |
