what is the difference b/t a Windows service and just a regular app.? I have a service that I would like to convert to an application, but not that familiar with C++ (damn you NCSU teaching Java instead of C++)

any help here guys?

a service is just an app that runs in the background and is controlled by windows

any app can be installed as a service, including java apps

google java app as service
