Is Tonic still there? On Elizabeth, I think. They used to throw some good NYE parties...

^^^ Was hoping for something a little more specific than "just downtown", thanks though.

^^Going to the game. But seeing as it is at noon, I might still have enough time to have a few celebratory drinks before bedtime.

^Yeah, it's still there. Thanks!

Any others? What are you people in charlotte doing?

Menage is really cool. New bar/club just recently opened up, can't think of the name right now. Crush is also a cool place to check out

Crush is lame

Buckhead is cool, will be packed for new years and probably a cover charge. It depends on what you want to do, I normally go drink so I hit Stool Pigeons and Ri Ras

sigh

guess it's gotta get spelled out

EVERYTHING is right there. like was said before park in 7th street, walk around. you'll find whatever it is you're looking for. i'm sure you can find your transvestite hookers if you look hard enough.

so is it safe to assume that most bars will have a cover charge, and that bar hopping would be stupid for that reason?

Everyplace has a cover from what I remember from last year and i doubt that will change. And wherever you go in charlotte, make sure you go early to get a good spot at a bar or club.

New Years at Waterford Hall, Lake Norman. Otherwise known as the Galway Hooker should be good and the NV lounge exit 28 should prove to be a good cheap night of fun.

Thomas Street Tavern is fun every night, I dont know if they will be throwing down, but either way, it is one of those "can't go wrong" kinda bars.
