haha yeah, just checked. he was 66% from the line last year, and this year, he's 74%.

Personally, I think Redick is a better free throw shooter but I was just interested to see what other people think.


Maybe Redick is better because he plays in arenas with softer rims, or maybe Duke plays at earlier times when the earth's axis is less tilted....

You can't just go by pure stats with these things

yep if u look at the replay he just walks up to line notices the other team wasnt paying attention and instead lookin at their coach, he doesnt even go into form just bricks it off the back glass and catches them by surprise, game over...he possibly has one of the highest basketball IQs of any player in the ACC right now, kids very smart....and our best free throw shooter im pretty sure, certainly our best 3 point shooter, he drained one last night from mid court almost, I wouldnt mind seeing him and JJ go at a 3 point contest actually, Evtimov might win.

if you forced them to shoot from 5 feet behind the arc then he might win. otherwise i'd say gay gay wins it, but i still think evtimov is a huge asset to this team.

Redick once hit 91/100 3 pointers in a drill in HIGH SCHOOL.

That's just ridiculous.


Evtimov has a pretty accurate set shot, but the way Redick can square up coming off screens is unmatchable.

I'm also not sure I've ever seen Evtimov shoot a three off the dribble...

If they were just playing a game of HORSE or something then Evtimov wouldn't be at THAT much of a disadvantage...

Watch JJ warm up one time in the long pre-game warmup. I watched him before the wake game 2 years ago and before our game that same year. He really just shoots 3's (or did back then) and a few foul shots. I swear he couldnt have missed more than 5 or 6 the whole time i was watching, and I dont know that he even missed that many.

Now game situation is different, but I think JJ would KILL evtimov in a contest.

When Evtimov is on, he is absolutely lights out from behind the arc. The ball never touches the rim, no matter whether he is just behind the arc or 8 feet behind it. He is the one guy who consistently nails 3-pointers when he is wide open.

Sometimes Redick shoots better when he has a hand in his face.

I'm pretty sure Atsur didn't. We had a 4-point lead before the missed free throw. Make it or miss it, it doesn't matter. I'm sure he didn't miss it on purpose because there would be no reason to. If it was only a 3 point lead, sure, he missed it on purpose. But not a 4. There's no logical reason to miss it on purpose.

^Did you watch the game? First off it wasn't Atsur, it was Evtimov. Second it sure looked on TV like the Bama guys weren't paying attention and he missed it on purpose. Evtimov is our best free-throw shooter. He doens't miss in the last minutes of games. I would like to know his % in the last 5 minutes.

If you miss it on purpose then everyone has to struggle for a rebound and then bring it up the court where we already had our defence set. So, yes, it does makes sense to miss it on purpose, it gives them extra work to do.
