Put all of your favorite video's and photo's of NC State's most amazing plays in this thread. I was searching for some of Bennerman's dunks last year, and I think it would be nice to have all of our best plays in one place for easy reference. 12/24/2005 12:13:52 PM |

Maybe not a play, but definatly an amazing showing would have to be Andre Brown's game against Southern Miss. And his stiff arm against FSU. 12/24/2005 1:11:30 PM |

Adam Kiker's miraculous FG against FSU when we beat them in Tallahassee in 2001.
The kick was certain to be blocked so he stopped in midkick, waited for the defender to fly by and then kicked the ball flat footed and MADE it from ~35 yards.
Pretty freaking amazing. 12/24/2005 8:54:52 PM |

The 2005 Virginia Tech football game where down seven points Chuck Amato stared defeat in the eye and said those mighty words Quote : | "Outcome be DAMNED, we're gonna cover this +4.5 point spread!!!" |
And then the Wolfpack trotted out there and kicked that magical field goal to indeed cover the spread by half a point.
Let it be known that Chuck has a soft spot in his heart for the gambling Pack backers everywhere

TA's freshman year, against Clemson, run up the middle where he hurdles the first part of the line and JUST as he gets through you can see the gap close in behind him by 2 Clemson players. My favorite all-time run of his.
Also in that game I believe Cotchery ran back an onsides kick.
almost all the way at the top^ Yeah, the 83 Championship play was definitely the best. 12/26/2005 9:44:45 PM |

Quote : | "NC State rebounded the miss and held the ball until the game's final seconds. The club looked to Whittenburg but a pass from Bailey to Whittenburg was slapped away by Drexler. In a scramble, Whittenburg grabbed the ball but could only heave a desperation shot from about 30 feet as time wound down.
The ball was short of the rim but Charles, a 6-7 sophomore, positioned himself in front of Olajuwon and was the closest player to the basket. Charles caught the ball in midair and slammed it through with one second on the clock.
Charles stood stunned under the basket as the Wolfpack players and fans stormed the court. Houston players collapsed to the court; some pounded their hands on the hardwood. Valvano zipped through crowds of people, frantically looking for a player to hug.
"I just went up and dunked it," Charles said.
Phi Slamma Jamma foiled by, of all things, a dunk.
Lorenzo Charles' dunk will live forever. That shot has probably been replayed on highlights more times than any other event in sports history. It was a shot that won a game, broke some hearts, but won over a whole lot more. Indeed, it was the shot that made March mad." |
I worked with Lorenzo several years ago. We were listening to 850 one day and they started comparing some other player to him. All these people were calling in and saying he wasn't really very good and he was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time. 15 years after his 15 minutes of fame he was loading trucks for a living. It was pretty sad.

I think that Bennerman dunk over Shelden Williams is one of the nastiest dunks I have EVER seen, on any level
to move the ball in mid-air around the arm of the best shot blocker in college basketball like he did is just ridiculous to me 12/29/2005 1:17:19 PM |
