I know some of you guys work for BB and was curious if you could help me with some info.

I got a printer there on 12/24, came with a $30 rebate. Well, in the 12/25 sale paper, the same printer now had the $30 rebate that I got, plus a $20 gift check from amex. Assuming I have already set up the printer (it was for my parents who live out of town), but still have the original receipt, plus the UPC from the box (which I cut off for the rebate), could I go into BB and get them to return the computer and then resell me the exact same one so that I get a receipt that fall within the date range for the Amex gc?

best buy definitely doesnt allow you to return a computer to get a new printer receipt

so if I went in with the original receipt and said I wanted to return the printer and then buy it again, they wouldnt do that? seems silly. I feel like I am getting gypped a little here.

bestbuy has a policy that if you bring in the purchase-receipt, they will give you whatever additional promotional material is offered within 30 days of your purchase date

^^Yup. A few years back I bought a surround sound system. A few days after that purchase I bought a DVD that had a coupon for $50 off any surround sound system. I took the coupon in and they honored it.

the policy is probably a result of people doing what xplosivo originally planned to do.

this way they don't have to deal with hundreds of returned/re-bought items, which must be inventory hell
