Yes Media Matters is a liberal site...but these are all very funny and very outrageous.

The origonal text is easier on the eyes with links to the clips.

I don't think media matters needs the traditional "it's a biased site" warning. They've yet to publish any incorrect info.

And it must have been hard to narrow it down to only 18.

they may not have published incorrect information, but they are still biased in the information they choose to report on. i.e. Show the bad stuff from conservatives and good stuff from liberals, therefore making them liberally biased.

They report facts...the ones that make conservatives look bad, mostly.

But really, there has been some crazy shit said this year...i loled at these two.

In what context exactly would make the following look any better?

"Canada is a sweet country. It is like your retarded cousin you see at Thanksgiving and sort of pat him on the head. You know, he's nice, but you don't take him seriously. That's Canada."

Liberals "don't have the kind of family responsibilities most people have, and certainly not church responsibilities."

"There are a lot of aspiring rappers and NBA superstars who could really use a nice flat-screen television right now."

"Same-sex marriage would lead to "marriage between daddies and little girls ... between a man and his donkey."

I heard that live. It was taken completely out of context. It was a joke. It was said for humor. There was no seriousness to it whatsoever.

"You would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags or some mad regime — Pol Pot or others, that had no concern for human beings."
- Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill) on Guantanamo

"I'm going to call it what it is, that is the only thing I could compare what we went through to."
- Leah Hodges, comparing Katrina to being held in a concentration camp.

"[The CBS memos] originated with Karl Rove, in my belief, in the White House. They set that up with those false papers."
- Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY)

I laughed a little at the Tucker quote.

"Get some devastation in the back"
--Bill Frist, tsunami photo op tour in Sri Lanka, Jan. 2005.

"You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war." --Pat Robertson, calling for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, Aug. 22, 2005

"I question it based on a review of the video footage which I spent an hour or so looking at last night in my office. She certainly seems to respond to visual stimuli." --Sen. Bill Frist, diagnosing Terri Schiavo's condition during a speech on the Senate floor, March 17, 2005

"You simply get chills every time you see these poor individuals...many of these people, almost all of them that we see are so poor and they are so black, and this is going to raise lots of questions for people who are watching this story unfold." --CNN's Wolf Blitzer, on New Orleans' hurricane evacuees, Sept. 1, 2005

"You work three jobs? … Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that." --President Bush, to a divorced mother of three in Omaha, Nebraska, Feb. 4, 2005

"What I'm hearing which is sort of scary is that they all want to stay in Texas. Everybody is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this (chuckle) – this is working very well for them." --Former First Lady Barbara Bush, on the hurricane evacuees at the Astrodome in Houston, Sept. 5, 2005

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city. And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help because He might not be there." -- Pat Robertson after the citizens of Dover voted against school board members who favored teaching intelligent design

"I understand there are 10,000 people dead. It's terrible. It's tragic. But in a democracy of 300 million people, over years and years and years, these things happen."
--GOP strategist Jack Burkman, on MSNBC's "Connected," Sept. 7, 2005

-- "Those who enter the country illegally violate the law," Bush said in describing illegal immigrants in Tucson, Arizona, last month.
