So i am running XBMC and have been streaming video from my PC for a couple of months now no problem. I just formatted and reinstalled windows and now it seems that it can't cache the video properly. The videos are choppy now. This happened the very first time I tried to stream, but for some reason (without me doing anything) started working. It just recently started doing it again. I have played with the cache size and nothing seems to work.
any ideas? 1/10/2006 6:22:46 PM |

Where do you get the idea that there is a caching problem on the server/streaming system? 1/11/2006 12:43:55 AM |

because now it takes like 15 seconds and a status bar appears and says "Caching files.......15 sec later......avi detected" It used to just play the video from the second i press 'x' 1/11/2006 8:47:41 AM |

I've had this problem before as well, but i never found a reliable solution or cause. Rebooting tended to help though... 1/11/2006 11:28:45 AM |

it seems like it can stream smaller (less quality) video from the PC, but the HD video are all still choppy. Maybe this is a codec deal? This problem just came out of nowhere!! 1/20/2006 12:01:21 AM |

ok, well i have found something out! It seems that you must disable QoS Packet Scheduler for your connection. If this doens't work you may need to uninstall SP2. After I uninstalled SP2, everything worked like a charm. Let me know if this helps
