How is this course GUYS?

Tests are not too difficult, if I remember correct it is open book. There is one presentation, many guest lecturers and a trip to the winery.

Did you guys have to do a polyketide synthesis problem on a quiz?

I know Probasteal is in that class? But that quiz screwed me over! Such a stupid quiz which scales you off from making an A.

idk if it will scale you off from making an A. Dr. L. knows the polyketide synthesis problem was a beast and i assume she will grade fairly easy.

In MB 411 she was pretty laid back with the grading and gave a lot of partial credit.

But then again maybe I'm being optimistic.

I took that class during last Spring semester. Got an A-. I was like one point from an A. While the course is easy since the tests are open notes, I think I would have gotten a lot more out of it if I would have taken GN 411 before the class. One of the guest lecturers got into a lot of detail about some operon (i think it was the lac operon), which went over my head at the time. Now though operons are something I understand fully.

BRASS, was the TOTAL COURSE GRADE OUT of 100 pts? This is, though. So getting 2/5 on this quiz signifies a 97/100 so far in course, and there is much more course work left. I hope she gives this assignment as extra credit or perhaps she can give some later on.

Probas, I don't know about her. I had hyman for mb 351, i got A+, and GN 411, got A, but this course, the grading is retarded, especially in the way it is formulated. Everything is thus important!

from what i remembered, everything added up to 100. so yeah if you got a 2/5 on the first quiz, you now are guaranteed a 97/100, unless she gives some extra credit. i don't remember her doing that though. you never know though, she might do it this year.
