If you wanna take him to a classy type bar, I would suggest the Blue Martini. I went there for my 21st and had a kickass time. They also have drink specials on certain nights. They have booths in the back that can be kinda intimate, if you want to go out alone, and they have a bar and live music if you're bringing friends.

He's your man, take him to a couple cool bars with your friends, and then take him home to do your own strip show for him. Unless you've been to a strip club and enjoy it yourself. If you think there's any chance you wouldn't have fun as well, don't take him to one unless it's just the two of you out of curiosity. There is no reason to take him someplace that makes you unhappy, which in turn could make his night miserable. He would love a strip show from you way more than seeing some cheesy girls at a strip club.

Ri Ra is a great Irish pub downtown, Hibernian is cool too (the Cary branch - Raleigh is too crowded for my tastes). For food as well, Tir Na Nog is all right. Rumrunners is good if you don't mind a lot of other people there just having fun. The Irish pubs are more relaxed atmospheres, and usually have some form of live music. I've heard good things about the Berkely as well. Or you could take him to Charley Goodnights for a comedy show if someone promising is on stage the night of. I haven't been to many other drinking places, and they aren't worth mentioning.

Ri Ra's is now Napper Tandy's...no longer an irish pub It still looks like one but the dance floor with neon lights and Mike Jone's "Badd" wafting through the air kinda kill the irish vibe....

thee dollhouse is very nice as far as strip clubs go. but its expensive.
and they have food (good but also pretty expensive)
they sometimes have "features" (porn stars) and thats uh.. interesting

i second what someone said about not going to a strip club unless YOU are comfortable with it.


karaoke - avoiding the club atmostphere but still upbeat and entertaining.
i dont know if he likes that or not but him and his buddies can always go up and make a fool of themselves.
Playmakers has karaoke on tuesdays and fridays (starts round 10) and its usually a good crowd but you can still find a table. good cheap drink specials ($3 well drinks and 23oz bud lights & $5 jager bombs)

you can do the whole bar hopping on glenwood south but you'll run into lines late at night at 510 (hi5, bog, redroom) plus cover charges and i just dont care for the whole yuppydrug scene at other places on the street.
