It's kind of obvious that our fans and students do not know the words to all of our cheers. It's something we, the wolfpack faithfull, should learn and remember, so we can be that much more bad-ass sounding at games.

When the trumpets do the solo fight song (either at the beginning of the game or after the fast fight part), if the whole arena sang the fight song, that would be fucking badass. Im all for everyone singing the fight song, but Im not going to be the only guy in my section singing my ass off. Maybe if the student section could get it going, the rest of the arena might slowly pick it up over the course of several games.

people are too focused on clapping in sequence (which is really hard when you can't hear the band over the clapping)

and then people just start clapping faster and faster instead of to the fight song--which is really annoying

Well the RBC needs to mic the band, but I guess they dont want to risk being able to hear the band over the ads. Thats something else we should do....anytime an ad is shown during a timeout, the RBC should BOO the ad. Thats great if they want to support Wolfpack athletics, but they arent doing shit for us when the pep band and cheerleaders have to sit on their hands while the crowd has to stare at an ad.

^^ I agree ever since we moved into the RBC I have hated those damn ads, and the addition of the ribbon board makes it worse. It might not be so bad when you are in the lower level, but from the upper deck it is nothing but a distraction.

I was at the UNC game and as much as I hate them it's hard not to be jealous of the pride their fans take in their program. They all stay after for their alma mater and enjoy the win. Aside from cheering louder, I would love it if our fans would stay longer at the end of the game instead of rushing to get out of the parking lot. My group is like the only people in our section that stay for the alma mater.

Most students dont seem to even know the alma mater.

Dude, dont be a moron. I feel its safe to assume you watched the Panthers-Bears game Sunday based on your other stupid threads...didnt you hear the Bears fans singing after every Bears TD? Im sorry, but that was awesome. The Eagles fans do this too as well as a number of other teams fans Im sure. Granted, their fight songs sound more like good drinking songs, but 50000 people all singing together to support their team is nothing short of badass. Also, the fact that I cant think of a college fanbase that sings the fight song together is all the more reason why we should start doing it.

And once again, we need to BOO THE ADS! Everytime Im in the RBC Center, I feel like the game is a sideshow, an annoyance that much be dealt with between opportunities to pimp some product.

Next time youre at a game, notice the crowd involvement either during the game or especially immediately after a timeout that occurs after weve been playing really well (maybe forcing the other team to take a timeout). Then notice the crowd involvement when an ad pops up...everyones sitting on their hands while the ad plays...the band, cheerleaders, dance team, etc, are all not allowed to do anything (unless its wave giant VIC cards in the air). The crowd dies, the building is almost silent except for the ad, when the other team should be having problems hearing themselves think because the crowd is so crazy.
